Born on Earth Day (April 22), Ms. Drummey is all about Mother-Earth and sustainable living, recycling resources, planting and growing, getting her hands into the earth, and piddling around her vibrant green yard in La Mesa. Her mission as Chair of the 2017 Flower Show is expanding the Show by bringing in more vendors, exhibitors, and visitors from within Coronado and across the bridge to greater San Diego.
Previous to accepting the position of 2017 Flower Show Chair, Diana served the citizens of Coronado for 25 years, retiring in 2014 as a Sergeant from the Coronado Police Department. During her tenure, she became highly involved in the community working with the youth and getting to know parents and community families. Diana is an enthusiastic member of the Optimist Club of Coronado, Coronado Junior Woman’s Club, and the Crown Garden Club of Coronado.
Diana became involved with the Coronado Floral Association over 10 years ago as an exhibitor at the Flower Show. Since then she became a National Garden Clubs Judge, has chaired a variety of design sections in the Flower Show, became a Master Gardner through the Master Gardner Association of San Diego, and co-chaired the 2016 Flower Show. This year’s Flower Show is going to be super great thanks to the powerhouse we know as Diana Drummey!
