My involvement with the Coronado Flower Show spans over two decades. I became a designer and horticultural exhibitor in 1995, two years later began studies to become a Flower Show Judge, and currently hold a Master Judge Certification. In 1998 I began volunteering on Flower Show Committees (including the Home Front judging team) while concurrently serving as President of Crown Garden Club of Coronado. I have chaired or co-chaired the Coronado Flower Show multiple times and have entered the Show annually for the past 20 years. A member of the National Association of Parliamentarians since 2003, I’m also an active member of the California State Association of Parliamentarians. In addition to serving the Coronado Floral Association as Parliamentarian, I also currently serve as Parliamentarian for the Coronado Senior Center, Southwestern Judges Council, Palomar District of California Garden Clubs, Inc., and Crown Garden Club of Coronado.
I moved to Coronado in the early 1940s, attended Coronado schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, graduated from the University of Arizona, and spent my career in Medical Laboratory Science concentrating on Blood Bank administration. After retirement began a busy life of volunteer service which I find very fulfilling. I am a Past President of the Coronado Library Board of Trustees (where I was honored to dedicate the new library building), Crown Garden Club of Coronado, Bonita Valley Garden Club, and Southwestern Judges Council. I’ve been a member of the Historic Resource Commission, Coronado Historical Association, and the Senior Center Ad Hoc Committee. I am currently treasurer-elect of Palomar District of California Garden Clubs, Inc.
