How do we preserve the legacy of the Annual Coronado Flower Show? “Beyond planning for and producing the event each year, we must teach the young people in our community its value and relevancy to their generation, and provide more tools for sharing it with their friends and expressing their passion for it”, answers Karen Bullard, Vice-President of the Coronado Floral Association.
Karen recognizes that Millennials’ passions are similar in some ways to those of older cohorts – including the environment and beautification of community landscapes – however the way they express and pursue those passions is very different. They have more tools to express themselves, create personal identities, and gain attention. So this year, like us on FaceBook and follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest for updates, fun photos, and horticultural tips!
Karen is a Coronado resident with her husband Nick, a Navy pilot, and their two little ones, just 3 years and 9 months old.
